My series "How Do I Look?" documents Korean American girls on the day of their prom. Through my lens, I look at these young girls and see myself. I see their naivety, desire, excitement, and insecurities. Some of these young women, whose Korean background centers self-worth on physical beauty, stand with a quiet bashfulness while others emanate confidence in their glitzy gowns. It is through these images, where I begin to investigate what it means to be a Korean American woman in the context of an old American tradition. The photos were documented from 2014 to 2017.
